God Provides Peanut Butter and Microsope

Our neighbor Mary again. She's a tough old girl with a lot of old fashion common sense. She sent these gifts over. Peanut butter and a microscope! What a great combination for school aged kids. Our home schooled kids will love these.

God's Provision - A Firewall?

Cool stuff. It's a firewall! I'll have to check this thing out. I think this thing will have to be plugged in between my DSL modem and router.

Jordan came over with his wife and kids and brought this gift also. We had a great visit and the kids had a fun and loud time.

Kowabunga, God Provides a Pizza!

Our next door neighbor "Shotsee" just brought us over a pizza. Whoo- hoo!!!

It's amazing how fast we can tear into one! We were so busy eating up this yummy treat that I completely forgot about snapping a picture. It was two thirds gone before I remembered to photograph it for this blog.

God's Gift - Bananas

We just got back from a Memorial day get together at the Jacobson's.
They sent us home with these smallish looking bananas. I forgot their proper name, but they fry up like plantain.

My wife loves fried plantains.

God's Provision - Mangos!

Mangos, you either love them or hate them. Our family loves them. My favorite is to place slices of mango on top of homemade pancakes. Our neighboor has a humongous mango tree. Fortunately for us they're the kinda of people who hate mangos. They brought a bag of them over to us this morning.

God Provides Story Books

It's always difficult to find good books for my kids. Too much junk out there. Reading through them takes allot of time. I find myself plodding along previewing a book while my kids drool in waiting. Too often I toss the book.

These books are a real help. They come from the home of a pastor's family. I'm sure most of them will pass my scrutiny. Teresa, the pastor's wife also dropped over some extra pillow cases and more coloring paper. She dropped these off a couple hours ago.

God Provides Baby Food

Happy Baby! Our 9 month old boy "Ransom" will enjoy these. Beech Nut baby food. And all fruit flavors too! Fannie our neighbor dropped these off tonight. Another gift unsolicited but gladly received. We named our little boy "Ransom" because Jesus paid the ransom. His middle name is "Paid".

God Provides Coloring Paper

Our friend Teresa brought this to our door today. Thank God, because it get a little irritated when our six and four year use up my printer paper for coloring.

This old dot-matrix tear off paper will keep them at bay for a while.

God gives us Composition Books

I didn't expect a gift on day one.
Our neighboor Mary just call us up offering us these composition books.
We homeschool our children and they are always using up note paper for their lessons. These will be handy.

Why I started a blog about God's Provision

I am amazed how many times someone knocks on our door to give our family a gift. This past week God provided our family with a bag of zucchini, a beautiful wooden multi-game set, an anonymous gift of $100 and enough lemon pepper chicken (with side dishes) to feed our family of 9 for three or four days. Yes, I said (typed) nine. My wife and I have 7 children and it takes allot to provide for our family but God is always faithful to provide us with what we need and even more so. We've been married 15 years and from the beginning we decided that Catherine would stay home and raise our children. This wasn't a easy decision as she earned more money than I when we tied the knot. Still we were confident that the Bible is true. Every word of it. Within its pages it says that God will provide and that a wife should stay home and raise her children. Thousands of unsolicited gifts have been given to our family since then. Thousands of times God proved Himself more faithful to his promise than I believed Him to be. I am deeply moved at this. I feel I should keep record of these gifts less I forget them. I also want to show to others that God is not a liar. He keeps His promises. It's a safe bet to trust in Him for he never breaks his promises.

My plan for this blog is to make an entry of every unsolicited gift that comes to our family.
