Mary brought these over.Although I tried a variety of local bananas, I never had this type of banana before. They are very starchy and tasted like yukka. We were hoping they would sweeten up when you fry them like a plantain but they didn't.
Also the peals did not pull away from the fruit.
After some thought we try boiling them whole.
This worked wonderfully. The peals split and were easy to removed.
From here we cut them into strips, fried and salted them like french fries. They were pretty good. The kids loved them.
